Emerging optimism and trends in hiring – that will be the theme of the evening on June 23rd when the INSEAD Tri-State Alumni Association’s presents its careers event Turning the Corner: Executive Search and Your Career in 2010.

Join Peter Felix, president of the Association of Executive Search Consultants and a panel of top executive search consultants in technology, healthcare and finance as they share: expert opinions on the emerging optimism and trends in hiring and where the opportunities lie; advice for executives who are changing careers; and insider tips for establishing relationships with search consultants.

USIAA members who are not able to attend in person will have free access via Webcast.

Registration and networking from 6:30 pm; program starts at 7:00 p.m. Light refreshments and beverages will be served.

MODERATOR

Peter M. Felix has been President of the worldwide Association of Executive Search Consultants, based in New York, since 1998. Mr. Felix is a former executive search consultant, who has had extensive experience in association management, in management consulting and in industrial management.

During his career in executive search, Mr. Felix specialized in senior international searches in a range of functions and industries. He practiced as a partner in search firms based in London, New York and Hong Kong.

From 1984 to 1994, Mr. Felix served the British-American Chamber of Commerce in New York and London as Director, President, and Chief Executive Officer. In 1992 he was awarded the CBE, an honor awarded by the Queen of the United Kingdom in recognition of services to British commercial interests.

Mr. Felix received his BA in Social Studies and Law from Exeter University and MBA from INSEAD in Fontainebleau, France.

PANELIST BIOS

Kate Bullis

As a co-founder and Managing Partner of SEBA International, Ms Bullis manages SEBA’s Technology Industry Practice. Ms Bullis has spent over a decade representing market leaders across the hi-tech spectrum. Her team’s functional areas of expertise are marketing, sales, channel partnership, and strategy.

Beginning her career specializing in human resources search work, Ms Bullis later moved to the recruitment of market research, quantitative analysis, and brand management executives. Before founding SEBA, Ms Bullis was Vice President in the Strategy and Finance Practice at A-L Associates. There, she focused on strategy, corporate development, and joint venture search work for Technology, Financial Services and Manufacturing clients. She received her BA cum laude from Dickinson College in Carlisle, Pennsylvania.

Rolfe “Rik” Kopelan

Rolfe I. Kopelan is the founding partner of The Capstone Partnership. Previously, he was the Global Head of Financial Services for one of the major global executive search firms, and prior to that, President of Human Resource Management, a recruiting firm with offices throughout the United States. For the last 20 years, Mr. Kopelan's search practice has focused on Investment Banking working with independent Investment Banks, bulge bracket firms and universal banks.

He draws on more than 40 years of search experience to help his clients strengthen their organizations, upgrade existing operations, and enter new businesses. He is known for his ability to attract seasoned professional and executive level talent in highly competitive markets.

Jan Campbell

Ms. Campbell has assisted many biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies in attracting senior executive talent across a diverse range of business functions including CEOs, chief commercial officers, chief business officers and chief scientific officers.

Prior to joining Korn/Ferry in 2004, Ms. Campbell served as vice president and head of global marketing for the ophthalmics division of Novartis Pharmaceuticals, based in Basel, Switzerland. She was previously head of Global brand planning for the primary care division of Novartis and international product manager for F Hoffmann-La Roche AG. Earlier in her career, she held various commercial management roles of increasing responsibility for G.D. Searle Pharmaceuticals (Pfizer) in the U.S.

In 2009, Ms. Campbell was the recipient of Korn/Ferry’s Client Excellence Award in recognition of earning the highest Client Satisfaction scores worldwide.

Ms. Campbell holds a master’s of business administration from INSEAD Business School in Fontainebleau, France and completed a bachelor’s in psychology with distinction from UCLA. She has also attended executive management training at Harvard Business School.
